The ultimate embodiment of refinement
- Representing the pinnacle of the Rolex range, the Day-Date has been an icon of the brand since its introduction in 1956. This 40mm version in "Everose" pink gold is the ideal modern incarnation of the iconic model. This example features a sunray chocolate dial with applied luminescent Chromalight indexes in pink gold. The chocolate dial presents an almost monochrome watch with warm tones and an elegant look.
-
The sunray finish of the dial creates undulating reflections, created by perfectly controlled continuous circular brushing, with striations running from the centre of the dial outwards.
By reflecting both regularly and randomly off these engravings, the light produces a delicate shimmer and subtle reflections characteristic of this technique. Once the sunburst finish has been applied, the dial is coloured using a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) or electroplating process. A thin layer of varnish then gives it its final finish.Physical Vapour Deposition, dépôt physique en phase vapeur) ou par un procédé de galvanoplastie. Une infime couche de vernis lui confère ensuite son rendu final.

The design, development and production of Rolex bracelets and clasps, like the rigorous tests to which they are subjected, involve the use of the most advanced technologies.
As with all watch components, their impeccable aesthetics are ultimately ensured by the trained eye of our staff. The President bracelet with three rounded links was created in 1956 for the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date. The ultimate embodiment of refinement and comfort, it is still made from carefully selected precious metals.
